Privacy policy
This policy explains what Cherry City Pest Control collects through this website, why, and what it does with it. The short version: we collect what you type into our forms plus how you found the site, we use it to answer you and to understand which advertising works, and we do not sell it. You can opt out of sharing at any time.
What this site collects
This website collects information in three ways.
First, our forms. If you fill one in, you give us your name and phone number, and depending on the form, your email address, the town you are in, the service you need and a message. You can also choose to tick a box agreeing to receive text messages. Nothing on a form is collected that you did not type or choose, and no form asks for payment details, a date of birth or government identifiers.
Second, how you found us. When you arrive, the site records the page you landed on, the website or search that sent you, and any advertising campaign or ad click codes in the link (for example from a Google or Facebook ad). This is stored in your browser and sent with a form if you submit one, so we know which advertising and pages bring in customers.
Third, ordinary web traffic information that every website receives: the pages you view, the date and time, the type of browser and device, and a general location derived from your network connection. Analytics and advertising tools that we use may set cookies or similar identifiers to recognize a returning browser.
Why we collect it, and what we do with it
Form information is used to reply to you: calling, emailing or, if you agreed to it, texting you back about the pest problem you described, scheduling an inspection or service, and following up on work already done. It is stored in our customer management system.
Information about how you found us, and traffic information, is used to operate and improve the site and to measure which pages, searches and advertisements lead people to contact us.
Selling and sharing your information
Cherry City Pest Control does not sell your personal information for money, and does not rent or trade it.
Your information is handled by the people at Cherry City Pest Control who need it, and by service providers that work for us: our web host, our customer management and phone systems, and analytics and advertising providers such as Google and Meta. Some of these advertising and analytics tools, including tools that help identify returning visitors, may count as "sharing" personal information under California law.
You can opt out of that sharing at any time on our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page, linked in the footer of every page. We also treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as an opt-out automatically.
Information can also leave that circle if we are required to disclose it by law, by a court order, or by a lawful request from a government authority, or if disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of a person or to establish or defend a legal claim.
Text messages
If you tick the text message box on one of our forms, you agree to receive occasional text messages from Cherry City Pest Control, which can include marketing messages. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Text HELP for assistance, and reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages. Agreeing to texts is never a condition of getting service.
We do not sell or share your phone number or your text message consent with third parties for their own marketing. We record when and how you gave consent so we can show it was given.
How long we keep it
Contact form submissions that do not turn into a job are kept for up to two years, so that we can look up an earlier conversation if you get back in touch, and are then deleted.
Customer records, meaning the service history for a property we have actually treated, are kept for as long as you are a customer and for seven years afterward. Pest control service history is worth keeping: the treatment record for a property is the most useful thing to have in hand when a problem comes back.
Web traffic information is kept in aggregated, non-identifying form.
Keeping it secure
This site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, so what you type into the contact form is encrypted in transit. Access to contact form submissions and customer records is limited to the people at Cherry City Pest Control who need it to do their job.
No method of transmitting or storing information is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we will say is that this site is not a place where sensitive information should be sent: please do not put financial account numbers, government identifiers, or health information into the contact form. We do not ask for any of it and we do not need any of it.
Children
This site is for adults arranging pest control service for a property. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through this site, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices, and how to reach us about them
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, or ask us to stop contacting you. Call or email using the details below and say what you want done. We will do it, or tell you plainly why we cannot, for example, where we have to keep a service record to meet a legal or recordkeeping obligation.
There is no account to log into and no password to manage, because this site does not have accounts.

Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version is posted on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes, meaning anything that alters what we collect or what we do with it, will be described plainly rather than buried in a rewrite.
Privacy requests and questions
Anything about your information — what we hold, correcting it, deleting it, or being taken off a contact list — goes to the same people who answer the phone.
