Identification before treatment
The EPA’s Integrated Pest Management framework puts monitoring and correct identification ahead of any control decision, because the wrong product for the wrong species simply does not work. It is the single most common reason a DIY treatment does not take.

Questions
Questions about choosing a service
9 answers about the five services as a set: which one fits, how they are priced, and what the five have in common. Questions about a single pest are answered on that pest’s own page.
Droppings, gnaw marks or night-time scratching in the walls point to rodent control. A persistent trail, or coarse sawdust containing insect body parts near woodwork, points to ant extermination. Insects streaming in and out of a single point in siding, a soffit or a hole in the lawn point to wasp and yellow jacket nest removal. Recurring general activity, or wanting it prevented rather than chased, is general pest control. A business, especially one handling food, needs commercial pest control.
A one-time visit addresses what is present now. A recurring plan addresses continuous pressure, which is how the EPA frames Integrated Pest Management: a maintained program rather than a single event, because new pests keep attempting entry. Nationally, recurring service contracts make up 85.4% of residential pest control revenue, and recurring plans carry a lower effective per-visit price than one-off service. Ask on the call which plan and service interval suit your home or business.
Yes. All five services (general pest control, rodent control, ant extermination, wasp and yellow jacket nest removal and commercial pest control) are available across Salem, Keizer, Silverton, Stayton, Sublimity, Turner, Monmouth, Independence and Brooks. Everything is worked out of one shop at 115 Kashmir St SE in Salem, and one phone number reaches it from any of the nine.
Yes. Four of the five services are residential (general pest control, rodent control, ant extermination, and wasp and yellow jacket nest removal), and the fifth is commercial pest management for Salem-area businesses. Commercial work is a genuinely different product: the deliverable includes documentation a health inspector can read, and required frequency is set by industry risk rather than preference.

Costs vary by pest type, property size and service frequency, but third-party market data for Oregon puts periodic/monthly pest control service around $40 to $45 per visit, and quarterly plans in the range of $100 to $300 per quarter. These are market averages, not a quote. Actual pricing depends on what an inspection finds at your specific property. Specialty work such as rodent exclusion is priced per job; each service page carries its own figures.

Through the EPA’s four-step Integrated Pest Management framework: set an action threshold, so a single sighting does not automatically trigger treatment; monitor and correctly identify the pest; prevent first through sanitation, exclusion and moisture control; and only then apply the least-hazardous effective control. Chemical treatment is one tool in that sequence rather than the default first move.
Usually because the pressure never stopped. A perimeter treatment works against continuous outside pressure rather than sealing a house permanently: new ants find a new gap, spiders re-enter in fall. Two things change that outcome: correct species identification before treatment, and the prevention work the EPA framework puts ahead of any chemical. Also, an incomplete ant treatment can actively split a colony, and trapping rodents without sealing entry points leaves the same gap admitting replacements.
Ants, by a clear margin. In the NPMA’s 2025 industry study of 800 owners and managers, ants were named by 51.6% of firms as the pest most responsible for callbacks, ahead of cockroaches at 42.6%. In Oregon specifically, spiders and ants are the two most frequent occasional-invader complaints in homes.
